Freita Mountain - Arouca

Freita Mountain extends its green mantle and rises like a giant over the village of Arouca. Its magic, its easy enchantment and the air of lost paradise shown to anyone who enters into it make the "Enchanted Mountain" an obligatory stop.

Day 1 — Frecha da Mizarela Escarpments

This is one of the most emblematic trails in Freita Mountain, with Frecha da Mizarela — a waterfall flowing from Caima River, standing at a height of 75 meters, the highest waterfall in Europe (outside of Scandinavia and the Alps). The steep slopes that surround this waterfall have a lush green colour and it is in them that this trail unfolds, always with great slopes and with considerable technical challenges.

Day 2 — Drave Magical Village

Apparently lost on the mountain, everything in the village of Drave approaches the pure and untouched state. There is no electricity, piped water, sanitation, gas, mail, telephone and mobile phone network is scarce. There are also no stores, so money has no use. But in abundance, there is the green of the vegetation and the refreshing water of the waterfalls and lagoons where after walking 4km from Regoufe, the nearest village, the visitor can enjoy an invigorating bath.
